Miami-Dade County blended the charm of country living with the energy of South Florida during the 2025 Miami-Dade CountryFest, held at Tamiami Park Fairgrounds on April 26 and 27. Organized by the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department, the two-day event highlighted the county’s rich agricultural heritage through music, food, live demonstrations, and family-centered activities.
Coverage of the festival was based on observations made during the opening day, April 26, when thousands of visitors attended to enjoy the festivities under sunny skies.
The festival featured a dynamic lineup, including live country music performances, livestock exhibitions, rodeo showcases, and hands-on workshops. Guests of all ages participated in farm animal encounters and educational booths hosted by 4-H Miami-Dade, which emphasized the vital role of agriculture in Miami-Dade’s community. A variety of food trucks and local vendors offered Southern-style dishes, artisan goods, and refreshments throughout the fairgrounds.
Samantha Reyes, Special Events Coordinator for the festival, highlighted the event’s mission to connect residents with the county’s agricultural past.
"Miami-Dade is not just urban skyscrapers and sandy beaches," Reyes said. "CountryFest highlights the farming traditions and rural spirit that helped build this county."
The South Florida Rodeo Association entertained the crowd with traditional rodeo events such as bull riding and barrel racing, while informational exhibits provided insights into sustainable farming and environmental stewardship. Workshops and displays aimed to educate visitors on the evolving role of agriculture in today’s metropolitan Miami.
With strong attendance and enthusiastic participation, the 2025 Miami-Dade CountryFest successfully celebrated Miami-Dade's rural heritage. Planning efforts are already underway for next year’s event, with goals to expand programming and deepen community engagement through additional interactive experiences.
